Last week, I was reading an article by Davíð S. Matthías and it got me thinking about my photographic process.

Our Photographic Journey

I believe that photography, similar to other arts, is a never-ending journey. A journey that offers an opportunity for continuous learning and self-growth in some way or another.

Once you learn the basics of how to operate a camera and other basics like the rules of composition, you are good to go and explore the world capturing time as it unfolds.

Creativity and Expression

Photography is a creative conduit of expression that unlike other mediums, allows the photographer of capturing moments in time. Renowned photographers past and present have honed this craft to a level that just by viewing their work you can understand what message they wanted to transmit. That is why sometimes we use the expression “a photograph speaks to you”.

Having said that, during your creative journey, you will still be able to make meaningful photographs. Take vacation snapshots for example. A lot of people just snap away photos with their phone just as a way to document their life.
