Welcome to my seventh instalment of the year. You may call it a week. Usually I do, but I opted for instalment today.

As well as that, I opted for the Americanised spelling of instalment. This is for two reasons.

Firstly, I don’t like the squiggly red line which tells me I’ve spelled something incorrectly. I do hate conflict.

Secondly, I’ve discovered it’s a thing whereby Medium editors love to Americanise my writing. I’m British. I’ve given up, though.

On with the show.

Day 43 — Light

Day three of our holiday. This (the above photo) is where we’re staying. It’s a lodge. One floor, three bedrooms, lots of light. And even in a rainy February, lots of light.

We spent a week on this site last year, too. We were in a large house then, much bigger than our current accommodation. We all preferred the house, but there’s no denying this place is posh.

My favourite thing about where we’re staying is the light. The decor’s nice, the chairs are comfy, the oven is hot, but the light is good. I love good light.
