This month, for me, was a classic example of producing while under the gun. It started out on a cloudy afternoon in the harbor town of Ustka, Poland. The annual sailing days, a series of sailing regattas, were on. Like every year, I go with camera and drone in hand to catch the action. Normally, a no-pressure scenario, things changed when I bumped into the Regatta media manager.

Apparently, she had seen my drone footage from the year before, giving me credibility as a competent content creator. After a brief chat, she offered me an opportunity to help with covering the races.

I became immersed in a two-week photography stent producing images for the Regatta and the European Hobie Class Association. The effort consumed me, so for this month’s challenge, I offer images from that work.

Primary Colors

Hobie racing boats are about bright colors. They are hard to miss as they scatter over the water like brightly painted butterflies on a summer afternoon. The reds, blues and yellows, combined with secondary primary colors, stand in stark contrast to the dark water of the Baltic Sea.

It makes for unique sight from above.

Retired these days but still working to improve myself. An avid photographer I am always learning to look at the world in new ways while telling a good story.
