This is a two-part post. For the last month or so, work has taken me to various places in London, away from my usual beat. In addition, the walking group for which I volunteer regularly has also changed routes, and along the way,I’ve come across parts of the British capital that are new to me.

First up is the image above. Is it a full moon? No, this is the view through the ceiling of one section of the Bank of England. Specifically, the junction of Lothbury and Princes Street. I took this photo on my way to work one sunny Sunday.

Work that day was…

London’s Festival of Cycling. Borough-specific and, in my case, rider-focused. As the main ride leader I had to make sure that our tour was suitable for a south London-based company that worked with people with both disabilities and learning difficulties. A couple of minutes before we cycled off, I looked up and saw the perfect combination of blue sky, white clouds, and the clock tower at the Guildhall. The ride was a total success. Everybody loved it.
