I don’t need to remind you that this is a busy time of year.

Just about everyone deals with it — holiday shopping, traffic, parties, travel, etc.

The world gets very active, and things seem to speed up. In the time that it took me to write this sentence, Hallmark released 3 new holiday movies. (I like that one about the unlikely couple who initially hated each other but somehow managed to fall in love.)

So, as the world spins around you, it’s easy to get caught up in it all.

So, don’t. Slow down instead.

How do you do that, you ask?

Assuming that you’re a photographer, you grab your camera.

See With Your Camera

When you use a camera to create a quality photograph, you first visualize the image that you want and then you attempt to create it.

You may not even realize that you’re doing it. But you are. And that brief instant represents a welcome distraction from everything else.

At least if you’re like me. When I’m holding a camera, with intent to shoot, I’m totally focused (pun intended) on what I’m doing.

I’m a writer, a photographer, a music lover, and a professional ice sculptor. I’m kidding about that last thing. (View my portfolio at: markaliphotos.com)
