Repo Man is a 1984 Sci Fi, Action, Comedy, Crime movie about a group of Repo Men, Punks, Scientist, Government Agents, and a guy riding around Los Angeles with a trunk full of dead aliens.

One it’s initial release 33 yrs ago the movie wasn’t received so well, but thanks to home video(What is that) it grow a cult following over time.

The movie follows a young punk name Otto(Emilio Estevez) in one of his early roles who just quit his job at a local Supermarket and who was just dumped by his girlfriend for a so called friend, Otto finds himself not really caring about anything until he is tricked by Bud (Harry Dean Stanton) into stealing a car, which he finds out that Bub is a Repo Man, Otto hesitantly takes the job of being a Repo Man himself, and quickly finds himself caught up in more than repossessing cars.

I can’t remember when I first heard about Repo Man, didn’t even hear of it until probably 5 years ago, when I start down at watched it for the first time I didn’t know exactly what was going on but I did recognize most of the cast.

Led by Emilio Estevez who even though is the lead he somewhat takes a backseat most of the movie involving scenes with legendary character actor Harry Dean Stanton who introduces Otto to the Repo World, a lot of Dean Stanton dialogue at first doesn’t seem to mean anything until you really pay close attention too it.

The other supporting characters pop in and out of the movie a few stand outs would have to be Sy Richardson as Lite, who is a Repo Man but the complete opposite of Bub and does things a lot more reckless

Tracy Walter as Miller is probably the most interesting character in the movie, Walter has made a character of playing characters similar to this one but I think this might be one of my favorite performances of this type of character by him and the John Wayne scene is one of his standout moments.

Vonetta McKee as Marlene does a good job as the sassy receptionist who turns out to be more than she seemingly appears and is a badass to boot.

overall the acting is the best but probably my least liked acting came from Olivia Barash as Leila, she is very cute but her acting sucked it seemed she was reading her lines moreso than actually delivering them and there really wasn’t alot of chemistry between Leila and Otto even though their characters are supposed to be a thing.

The soundtrack helps this movie a lot with the different types of songs through out the biggest being that of the Repo Man main song by Iggy Pop, we really don’t get soundtracks like this in movies anymore which is a shame really.

Is Repo Man a great movie? Hell No. Is it a movie that really makes sense? Nope. I can’t really tell you what makes it a interesting movie, but it is an experience to sit back for 90 minutes watch and enjoy the ride.
