Everything Will Be OK

A Daily Reminder

We aren’t told this enough by others.

Each day, we’re expected to try our hardest, solve problems we’ve never dealt with before, and put ourselves out there. And for what?

There is absolutely no guarantee any of this will matter in the future.

You know what I think?

The time and effort you put in now will inevitably shape the person you become, what you do, and the impact you have on others.

No matter what you are struggling with, everything will be OK. You will get through this and be stronger because of it.

If you have to, pause for a few seconds and tell yourself this. This might sound a little crazy, but believe me, it helps.

I tell myself this every single day. In fact, I repeat these words every morning when I wake up and every night before I go to bed.

After this confession, you might think I’m a nervous wreck who needs constant reassurance. As much as it sounds like it, I’m not. I’m just one human being who believes in self-reinforcement.

Try this next time you feel overwhelmed, depressed, or hopeless.

The most important part of this strange exercise is to be present when reassuring yourself. That really does mean shutting out all of the outside noise, quieting your mind, and reflecting inwards.

Once you repeat these words, open your eyes and take a deep breath.

You’ll be surprised at how much better you feel in the moment. This brief moment of meditation may take a little practice, but hey, what doesn’t?

How are you feeling? Have you tried telling yourself everything will be OK? Share your thoughts in the comments below or on Twitter at @williamfrazr.
