Networking isn’t about casting a broad net or meeting as many people as possible. The goal isn’t to grow your professional Rolodex, collecting name after name like faceless pets, only to brag about its size and sell people useless shit later on. In case you forgot, we’re adults; it isn’t a popularity contest anymore. Networking is about forming deep, sincere relationships and finding ways to bring value to each and every single person involved. It should be driven by sharing ideas and values instead of selling ourselves and our agendas. We need to listen and ask how we can help first. Only then do we have the right to share our story.

It’s not about quantity of your network; it’s about the quality of your impact on each connection.
