We are all keen to improve our coding skills every day, right? So we asked for advice some of the greatest minds in web development industry on how to write better JavaScript and CSS code. Here’s what we’ve got:

Brendan E.:

You need to write a new browser language. The shorter time it takes the better.

Lea V.:

Sorry, it’s my sweet Secret.

Jan L.

Commercialize all the things. Reach to good attorneys and get a decent software license. Also, apply for as many patents as possible.

Juriy Z.

Here’s the table. I categorized each step you need to take on. Look at column B3 about writing in ES6.

Jed S.

コーディングの仕方がわかりません。僕は翻訳者です。

Douglas C.

Listen carefully to your coworkers and contributors. Always provide a meaningful feedback. Never use semicolons — it’s a waste of space.

TJ. H.

For a good start I would advice publishing ca. 1000 modules on npm.

Azer K.

Unpublish ca. 1000 modules on npm to begin.

Isaac Z. S.

^ Not funny.

Harry R.

Not sure, but I can always run a workshop about that, if you’re interested.

Addy O.

I wrote about it 5 years ago. Here’s the incomplete list of my 512 publications.

Kyle S.

First off, you don’t know JavaScript.

Mathias B.

Go to view source in Firefox 30 at any page, write “belgian chocolate” and then press “cmd + alt + 4 + ]”. You will see a prompt window. Type “☃💩֍” in. Funny? NO! How can it be even possible?!

John-David D.

Learning JavaScript? It’s all about functions.

Miško H.

Put together every idea you ever had in one framework. Then publish it.

Jeffrey Z.

<div></div><div></div><div></div>.

Todd M.

Not sure, however here’s the number to my hairdresser.

Axel R.

ECMAScript spec covers it pretty well. Go to page 183, paragraph 2, third sentence and read it carefully.

Christian H.

In 1960 when I started writing websites I already had a bold opinion on improving yourself as a developer. I still have it.

Chris C.

Found it in Google, hope it helps.

Max O.

Ask your cat.

Yehuda K.

Actually, we are completely wrong about how we teach web development these days.

Sara S.

Neither CSS nor JS. Everything you need are vectors. Have you already seen my Angular.js implementation using SVG? (IE5+ compatible).

Gary B.

Wat?!

Btw. the above statements are a fiction and do not belong to any real person or a company. It’s an April Fools’ joke. If you though wanted to improve your code, you can always reach to us at Functionite. We do not only make jokes, but also code great websites and JavaScript applications.
