Function X Foundation launches FXCore donation support for refugees fleeing Ukraine
The Function X Foundation is now enabling Function X (FX) coin holders to make swift, easy donations to the non-governmental organization Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) via https://www.cryptoforukraine.io
The PAH recently announced an initiative to provide food, shelter, and other forms of support for Ukrainian refugees (mostly women, elderly, and children) streaming into Poland. Poland has taken over 60% of the refugees since 24 February 2022. As of 2 April 2022, close to 2.4 million refugees have fled from Ukraine to Poland.
The PAH has extensive experience helping people in need, starting with when it organized donation convoys for victims of the Bosnian war in the 1990s.

Additionally, the Function X Foundation commits to donating the FX block reward from the Foundation’s validators throughout the duration of the war.
According to Function X President David Ben Kay, the plight of the Ukrainian refugees shows why cryptocurrencies are more important than ever. “Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen fleeing refugees have difficulty accessing their funds as well as the humanitarian organizations needing resources to assist refugees to settle,” Kay said. “Crypto can help from peer to peer transactions to trading goods and services in these difficult times.”
Through donations made via cryptocurrencies to humanitarian organizations, refugees are able to access more resources in the host countries. The recipients of the donations can use these funds to survive and eventually build a new life. “The pros of crypto for humanitarian NGO can be used in the situation when the banking system becomes non-operational in Ukraine,” added Rafal Grzelewski, Communications and Fundraising Manager of PAH.
