Hello Keplr Wallet, Function X is here

The Keplr wallet is an open-source web-based wallet for the Cosmos ecosystem, including all IBC-enabled Tendermint chains. It is the preferred wallet of the Cosmos and IBC ecosystem. It allows for seamless IBC transactions between app chains, and you can manage all of your IBC assets in a single place and interact with a variety of interoperable networks and decentralized applications. In this article, we will guide you to add the f(x)Core Classic chain to Keplr Wallet.

Before we get started, there are a few important things to note. f(x)Core Classic is integrated to Keplr Wallet via permissionless integration, meaning that all users are required to add the chain manually.

1. Install your Keplr Wallet
Go to https://www.keplr.app/ to install the official Keplr Wallet. Below, we will provide an example in the Chrome extension version.

2. Setup your new wallet
If you have never used Keplr Wallet before, select “Create new account”. This will take you through the steps to create an account and automatically generate addresses on all supported chains.

For other wallets (i.e. Cosmostation) users that already have IBC assets, may want to import your existing account. You can do this by selecting “Import existing account” or “Import Ledger” and inputting your private key or seed phrase on the next screen.

Ledger users should select “Import Ledger” and follow the prompts to connect their Ledger with Keplr.

3. Go to explorer.starscan.io to add the f(x)Core Classic chain
Go to https://explorer.starscan.io/fxcore/proposals and connect your Keplr Wallet. Add the f(x)Core Classic chain to enable the chain to your wallet.

4. You are ready to go!

By adding the f(x)Core chain to your Keplr wallet, you can start doing transfers and also connect to other app chains in the Cosmos ecosystem. We will integrate f(x)Core chain to more app chains like Osmosis in the near future, so users can swap on the Cosmos ecosystem.

Both chains — f(x)Core and f(x)Core Classic — are supported so you can transfer the token and will receive it seamlessly in both chains.

Why is this integration important for Function X?
Keplr Wallet is the major wallet in the Cosmos ecosystem and claims to have a half million users since its official launch (this number is considered big, since it is only utilized by Cosmos builders and community). Not to mention that the wallet integrates with more than 25 chains, and all users can switch between chains easily.

The most important point is that with Keplr integration, users can interact with DApps in the Cosmos ecosystem. Most of the new products in this universe have a built-in Keplr Wallet by default.

What’s next?

We are working to integrate Keplr with our DApps on EVM and become the bridge between the Cosmos ecosystem and EVM chains. In addition, we will add more integration to f(x)Core Chain on other app chains to bring in more users from the Cosmos ecosystem.

Thank you for reading the October Hash Out and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates and progress. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Function X blockchain, you can always reach our support team on the Starscan Forum.
