It’s little things like this, that help define the culture of a company. It’s the little jokes and traditions that bring you closer together. The softly spoken Sven Kaldmaa is not just involved, but frequently the focal point of many of these traditions. We feel that this perfectly summarises his work in Funderbeam. Quietly making it a better place, and all of us knowing it.
“I think the second name to Sven would be Trust. He is handling one of the toughest jobs in Funderbeam — client identification and transactions and this requires a certain personality. Always happy, always up to the tasks, always supportive.” Kaidi Ruusalepp, Founder and CEO.
His day to day work is delicate, specific, and critical. It takes a person with a unique combination of skills and interests to not just thrive and improve but also enjoy the investigating of funds and protection of user privacy. There is little doubt about the positive energy the team feels whenever he is there.

Outside of work, we know Sven to be a fond lover of cat videos and always keeps a watchful eye on the Political news. This balance between the seriousness and a fun loving nature is what makes him such an integral part of the team.
Joining Funderbeam from Estonia’s LHV Pank in Summer 2019, Sven speaks about how becoming part of a smaller business energised his love of building processes and being able to be ‘hands-on’ in a variety of different roles. “Sometimes I feel like I’m an investigator when checking the missing details in the bank accounts and I need to find the solution. This is really exciting for me.”
Truly a specialist of the Back Office, Sven is our “man behind the curtain” helping our customers and colleagues in client-facing roles. We’re glad to have him and that incredible smile in our office.
