Our Head of South East Europe, Damir, shares his thoughts on why he thinks Funderbeam is the future.

Recently, on July 7th 2018, a film festival was held in Veliki Tabor, an ancient Croatian castle that’s stood since the 15th Century. In there, a program called “Medvedgrad Corner” — sponsored and co-organized by Croatia’s Medvedgrad Brewery — displayed a slogan called “Create Beautiful Stories”.

Close by and holding a glass of Medvedgrad beer in his hand, was one of the festival’s speakers: 23-year old innovator Ivan Mrvoš who founded the technology company Include, Europe's leading developer and producer of smart benches. And Ivan’s journey, which he was sharing with the festival-goers, has been an inspiring one. He’s only been running Include for a few years but is already winning countless prizes for his products and achievements; helping Include to keep growing as a company. The atmosphere was relaxed, vibrant and encouraging for those in attendance.

On top of that, everyone at the event bought their tickets via the ticketing platform, Entrio, which started as a student project way back in 2011. Since then, the platform’s displayed an innovative approach to disrupting the old-fashioned (and cumbersome) way of purchasing and using tickets; whilst providing cashless payments solutions at events.

So what do these stories — that of beer, smart benches and tickets — have in common?

Well, all three of them raised capital for their growth via Funderbeam, where they enabled hundreds of investors to be part of their story. And it’s not just three of them…
