Passion like what is being described above is what you look for in employees and teammates. One always prefers to work with people who have a deep draw to their craft whether it be creating music, collecting, or designing user interfaces. This is precisely why we are excited to introduce you to our front-end designer and in-house DJ, Mehis Kont.
Mehis is one of our most treasured multi-talented individuals within Funderbeam and has been a staple in the company since the very early days.
Mehis joined Funderbeam a long time ago and over the years, he has helped us a lot in developing our front-end. Working really hard to find proper technical solutions while personally learning a lot. It have been real pleasure to follow his development. By nature, Mehis is a quiet person at work and just executes tasks assigned to him. But in rare cases, when he speaks, he has really good suggestions and ideas to amend or change the original task. I believe, it is thanks to those ideas, Funderbeam has been able to serve its users better. —CTO, Taivo Tender
Before eventually ending up at Funderbeam, Mehis was professionally studying electronics and bionics at the Tallinn University of Technology. During that time he was building websites as a part-time freelancer and it was through this that he really started to like the field of IT. So, he began learning some more on his own and as you may have guessed, managed to get himself into Funderbeam.

Currently, Mehis is a front-end developer on the design team who is working with user interface interactions and how the design appears in live product. Along with the team’s other designers, they work out the best possible solutions taking into account our technical framework and time that each design takes to code.
In Funderteam, there are basically two options for your passion outside of work— Music or Sports. Mehis is music, and to be honest, we hired him as our FunderDJ. Only later did we discover that Mehis can design too ;-). So, now he puts his DJ skills into front-end rhythm and what you see when browsing around Funderbeam is Mehis’ handwriting. A piece of art. There are many factors that led Mehis to Funderbeam but let’s allow him to tell the tale as well as some additional tidbits himself:
Ultimately, I joined Funderbeam for two primary reasons. First was, that I liked the company’s ambition. And second, the working environment. It’s as simple as that. Oh, and I also happen to live close to the office… so that is a nice additional perk.
My most active hobby is collecting good vinyl records and occasionally mixing them at events. In addition, I have been doing a radio show with a lad from Pärnu, Estonia on Idaraadio once a month (you can listen to some tracks below). I also play soccer and tennis, moderately. But I really enjoy playing fußball with my colleagues — it gets pretty intense. — Mehis Kont
Mehis is a mystery man with many talents… like Silent Bob — not saying much but always there in the middle of the action, helping you out when you need him most. A true buddy, I’d say. — CDO, Markko Karu
