Mink Campers: Escaping into nature in style
With the changing landscape of tourism, socially distanced travelling is set to attract those eager to explore their local countrysides and break-free of the lockdowns in the city. The opportunity for travellers to take short unplanned trips or plan for longer times away from large populated areas has now become more and more in demand.
Icelandic innovative travel company, Mink Campers, has designed a way for travellers of all varieties to explore nature. By utilising minimalist Nordic design, they have focused on intuitive functionality, sustainability, craftsmanship and durability.
These specially designed campers are lightweight and versatile making them capable to be towed by most vehicles (including electric cars) and have been rigorously tested to stand up to harsh conditions.
Head of Funderbeam’s Nordic Region, Rünno Allikivi, took one of the campers out into the beautiful nature of Iceland last week for a weekend away.
Traveling with a Mink feels unparalleled. We’re not a fan of tents, camper vans and trailers but absolutely loved the Mink! What an adventure to experience stunning Icelandic nature on a journey around the country pulling the brave Mink through hundreds of kilometres of fjords and steep mountaintops with ease and sleeping as comfortably as in your own bed in the middle of the nature! We are already looking forward to our next adventure of “minking” around!
