Getting to know our Engineers at Funding Circle: Q&A with Lin Han
This is part of a regular series where we catch up with our engineers to discover more about what life is like in the Engineering team here at Funding Circle!
Name: Lin Han
What is your role & team?
I’m a data engineer in the data team. We’re building a self-serve data platform to provide reliable and easily accessible data across the company. To do this, we build tools to automate data pipelines so that we can build data systems at scale.
How long have you been with Funding Circle?
Almost 2 years.
Why did you choose Funding Circle for your next role?
Coming from small startups (teams of ~20, then ~100 people), I was looking for a more established company that could provide more support and mentorship while still having a fun startup culture. I was convinced of the former once I met with everyone in the data team, and of the latter — well, there’s a giant purple teddy bear in the office! I was also impressed by FC’s strong engineering culture and dedication to diversity. During my interview process, I was invited to a ClojureBridge MeetUp hosted by the Women@FC group, and was delighted to be joined by female engineers and managers from the company.
