A normal Orchestra, or strings only ensemble will have five instruments. These instruments are the Violin, Viola, Cello, String Bass, and sometimes the Harp. The prices of these instruments can vary on the quality of the Instrument.

Example One: Standard Violin

The rental (first amount of money + the insurance will equal=the total)

Prices: 3 months- $66+$21=$87, 6 months- $126+$42=$168, and fast forward to 12 months- $200+$70=$170

Example Two: Advanced Violin

Prices: - 3 months- $90+$24= $114, 6 months- $174+$48=$222, 12 months- $280+$80=$360

Example three: Master Violin

Prices: 3 months- $126+$27=$153, 6 months- $252+$54= $306, (no information given for 12 months).

As you can see these price ranges are only given for the violin, and instruments such as Viola, Cello, String Bass and Harp will have an increase in their price ranges. Which is why the arts programs need the funds. Without these funds the schools won’t be able to rent or purchase these instruments which adds a heavy burden on a family to buy the instruments. This can be a problem however with low income families, they wont be able to purchase the instrument for their child.
