We all ask ourselves this question when we embark on a new journey or a goal; will my effort go to take me to where I want to be? if I get there will it be like I imagined?

What is it that we fear exactly? losing time, effort, work? or is it simply fear of the unknown?

Unknown

The Unknown is a place of uncertainty, a new territory, an unfamiliar world, a world that might be good or bad, safe or dangerous, fun or miserable. The bottom line it’s unknown and we have no control over it, or do we?!

Fear

Fear is a massive and scary Gate-Keeper for all the Unknown doors in our minds, the Gate-Keeper job is to prevent us at any cost from entering through, he’s designed to manipulate us, trick us, convince us, scare us and cripple us from even thinking about going close to the Unkown.

But why there is a Gate-Keeper standing at the Unknown gate in the first place? who put him there? who is his boss? what is it that’s he doesn’t want you to see?

The Problem

Our mind is designed to protect us from anything dangerous or seemingly close to that. When we set a goal for ourselves, we take action towards the unknown, and just when it starts to feel uncertain, uncomfortable, and hard, the Gate-Keeper fuses all these feelings and shapes them to you like fear, he feeds on your negative thoughts and amplifies them back at you, ultimately triggering the big boss “Decision” to stop you from taking any further action towards the unknown forcing you to go back to where you came from… your comfort zone!

The Solution

It’s simple, YOU have the “Decision”. You created Gate-keeper, and he’s merely doing his job, your job to manage all the Gate-keepers in your mind, the unknown has to be discovered, it has to be conquered and once you make that decision, the unknown will be known and all that fear will disappear.
