#29DaysOfBlackLoveSongs: Day 3

Today’s Black Love Song: The Brand New Heavies feat. N’Dea Davenport — Stay This Way

It’s now day 3 of the FuseBox Radio’s audio celebration online for Black History Month 2016 with our ‪#‎29DaysofBlackLoveSongs‬, where I select and share various tunes that I feel express all sorts of Black Love — self-love, platonic love, romantic love, love for community, etc. — from various music genres repping the Black Diaspora.

Today’s track is from the first The Brand New Heavies’ album, “Stay This Way”.

It’s just simply a sweet, romantic song I think we all need to hear once in a while to keep the concept of the best of romantic love in our lives, by whatever your definition of that is (long term relationship/friendship, marriage, etc.).

In my mind, it’s a “from when we first got together on this deeper level to the present, I’m feeling really optimistic about everything between us, no matter what happens” sort of tune– especially with the great Jazz, Soul & Funk instrumentation and grooves backing the awesome vocals of lead singer N’Dea Davenport.

Hope that folks enjoy this song and the others that will be on deck through the month of February under this hashtag, explore more tunes from these artists we put out there, share the music and more!
