Ethereum Foundation Developers Conference

Devcon3, Ethereum Foundation Developers Conference, Cancún, Mexico

Two weeks ago, I didn’t really know that I will attend the Devcon3, biggest Ethereum meetup. And right now, I am sitting in the main hall, listening to some amazing presentations, thinking how blockchain changed my life and how it gave us an opportunity to solve a huge problem in world of content industry. I will probably not post this blog until Saturday, just in case, if something else worth mentioning happens.

The Devcon community is amazing, very relaxed and filled with positive energy. I had an opportunity to meet some amazing people like Piper Merriam-Ethereum, Luis Cuende -Aragon, Daniel Zakrisson-Cofound.it (finally) and one and only, inventor of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin.

On the left side, Vitalik Buterin — Ethereum inventor; on the right side(from right) Tim M. Zagar — CEO and cofounder of ICONOMI, Daniel Zakrisson — cofounder of Cofound.it

My main goal at Devcon3 was to get a lot of different feedbacks and evaluations for our project and to see, what some of the leading people in this industry would say about it, add, change, etc.

As most of you already know, the Futourist project has two deliverables:

  • Fairbloc — a blockchain protocol for content monetisation and fair value distribution
  • Futourist — the first real life application of Fairbloc on a platform that will reward our users for creating content

Both project live in synergy and they are equally important. I presented them both and in the flood of all kind of technical/financial/AI trading projects that are also raising funds, our project really pops out.

And this is what makes our project unique and understandable for wider public! (How cool is that, right?)

When talking about the project, it is always crucial to understand who your audience is. And this is what makes our project understandable, because we are building an actual application on top of the blockchain protocol.

For blockchain community (which is in majority here in Devcon3) Fairbloc is the project that fundamentally solves the problem of content monetisation for the long tail of people.

On the other side, Futourist is a perfect application on top of Fairbloc, for a wider public — for people who don’t understand the blockchain technology, but would, on the other hand, like to benefit from it

Summary

So to sum it up, Devcon3 was a very successful for us. We received a lot of positive feedbacks, some really interesting suggestions and of course, a green light for our project. I have met a lot of people from blockchain community, as well as from some other industries, which our project is addressing. I would have to conclude, regardless on how market looks right now, blockchain community has never been more positive!

Dino in the zone — having a presentation

I would also like to take this time to thank you all from the bottom of my heart to be a part of this project, we couldn’t done it without you! So once again, thank you so much! Let’s change the world for content creators! ;)

My special thanks for making me feel welcome in Cancun goes to Tim M. Zagar, our Advisor who also connected me with a lot of people here!
