If you forego owning in favor of sharing, you could save a bundle (in payments, insurance, maintenance). You could also help save the planet.

In one study (by the Transportation Sustainability Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley), 7 to 11 private vehicles were removed from the road for every ride-sharing vehicle added.
