Be among the first to trial the new council website
With the new website well under way, the web team at Birmingham City Council wanted to share the new designs so you can get a feel for how the site will look and feel once it is live. It’s too early for us to build the whole site at this stage so we have just built the homepage, one ‘landing page’ and one ‘content page’.
By clicking on the link below, you’ll be taken straight to the mocked-up home page. From there you will be able to click on ‘visited pages’. You will also be able to select the ‘Waste and Recycling’ tile which will take you through to a mock-up of that landing page. You can see on there how the left hand menu expands and collapses. You can select ‘Ordering a bulky waste collection’ to see the content page style.
We encourage you to have a click around and familiarise yourselves with the designs. Please note that not all links will work and some links will take you to the same place or give an error message — this is not a fault, it’s the nature of a mock-up.
One great feature is the ‘responsiveness’ of the new design. This means that if you open up the mock up on a phone or a tablet it will automatically re-size to give you the optimal experience.
Of course, we want to know how you get on so your feedback is welcomed. We are collecting feedback as we go through the design process and will use it when we come to finalising the design and content.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MOCK-UPS WILL WORK IN ALL MODERN BROWSERS BUT MAY NOT WORK IN OLDER BROWSERS SUCH AS INTERNET EXPLORER 8.
