On building a community of revolutionaries.
Over the past year, the Equity Design Collaborative has spent months working to understand what exactly it means to engage in equity design. Here’s what we agreed on:
The fantastic team of colleagues does unique and diverse work across the United States:
- from educating, training, and challenging Black and Latinx youth to become leaders designing healthy and racially equitable communities,
- to fighting for the right for every child to receive a quality education, to
- developing spaces that value innovation for, and by, people with lived expertise.
It’s a great start, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg. With the emergence of the discussions on ethics, tech, and inclusion, many have been collecting with critical design resources, books, methodologies, and much more to make design impact more ethically sound.
