In April, we ran a test to see if we could surface more people working on amazing ideas for the future of school. Usually we launch an application each time we host an Essentials Camp Session. This past spring, we teamed up with our community to try and recruit enough people to fill six sessions at once. The assumption was that by relying on our community we could find enough of the right people to invest in. The result was inspring. By the end of the application cycle, we reviewed more than 150 amazing teams for the Essentials Fellowship.

The application process was humbling and we have never been more in awe of our community. As we met brave founders striving to make a difference in education, we saw the power of our word of mouth and what it looks like to have a community build itself organically. To say the decision process was tough is an understatement, but in the coming months we will be introducing the Essentials Fellows and what they are working on one cohort at a time. Click on any of the fellows below to reach out and send them love as they gear up to come to Essentials Camp and continue building the future of school in their community.
