Are smartphones good for the workplace? The obvious answer is yes, while others may disagree, the facts are evident. They help increase work productivity by allowing employees to be mobile and work from wherever.

On Forbes, they talked about if smart phones are good for the workplace. Larry Alton said, “Specifically, the research indicates that, as a result of using smartphones, respondents gained 58 minutes of work time each day, on average. They also saw productivity increase by an estimated 34 percent.” The research was carried out by Frost & Sullivan, and about 500 business firms were apart of the study. Innovative apps have made these possible because you can work on the run using software that computers have. These advances will only get better, and soon those numbers will increase by more than 34%.

Some apps that have made it possible are Pages, Files and Skype. With the pages and files, you can type up papers, create graphs, charts, and proposals. These can easily upload to send to bosses, which will be no issue if they’re on computers and tablets. Skype can be used for conference calls and communicating face to face with employees.

Larry Alton did a good job in his, One Decade Later: Are Smartphones All Good For The Workplace, article on Forbes. Great reasons were given for to support the future of smartphones in the workplace and how it’ll affect future generations.
