Lee Martin confronts Gitane Levesque at a bar in Geneva. Gitane is drunk and jealous of Lee’s success as an interviewer, accusing her of not having time for him anymore. After an argument where Gitane makes inappropriate advances, he storms out.

In a teleconference meeting at HU/AGT headquarters in Zurich between Ulrich Giger, Sam Hoffman, Bill Decker, Peter Anderson and Tony Azaria, Tony reports on the progress of procuring land and infrastructure for elevator bases, manufacturing climber cars, logistics for moving people, and utilization of Nabith Mehra’s software contributions. Peter provides an update on the construction of elevator ribbons, the progress of moving people into space habitats, mining operations on the Moon, and the importance of Nabith’s program for optimizing the distribution of habitats across the solar system using orbital trajectories. Sam states that world leaders and businesses have largely cooperated with Humanity United’s plans, with only a few holdouts remaining. Bill raises concerns about a growing opposition group called “The Resistance” who believe the comet threat is fake and that HU is attempting a global takeover. Ulrich emphasizes the need to remind people that HU’s actions are voluntary and aimed at enabling human survival while creating shared wealth through increased production and efficiency. He praises the team’s excellent progress.
