SUMMARY OF: II -Mighty Works and Wonders, Chap11 -Not Enough, section 40

“STAR OF EPIPHANY” — by Omar Fink 2019

[this is a series of summaries extracted from the novel]

Peter Anderson introduces Nabith to TYCHE, an advanced AI software agent with a personalized avatar. It’s offered to help Nabith with his network design project for communications and navigation services.

Keel shows Delize his private habi-craft named “Counter Tre.” He explains he bought it with winnings from a virtual football championship. They engage in martial arts training that quickly turns into an intimate encounter.

Professor Morgan explains the Directed Matter Junction (DMJ), which uses sub-quantum channeling to morph matter. The technology could potentially solve issues with carbon nanotube production for elevator ribbons. The HU team offers funding for a demonstration of the DMJ technology.

Crew Ring discussion (Kaz, Sonny, and Scotty): they discuss food synthesizers and their limited flavor options, they talk about their preferences (or lack thereof) for alcoholic beverages. They also review priorities for rescue operations, mining, and cyber security: faster emergency supply drones and safety standards for rescue ops, improved grappling and drilling processes for mining, development of a claim registration database for asteroid mining, need for better cyber security defenses in their systems.
