Building new while the old destroys itself
We have hit a fork in the road; it isn’t Musk’s twisted dinner fork. It is dismantling the 200-year evolution of representative government and independent professional administration.
From the founding of the American Experiment, the Enlightenment ideal was objective administration in the name of the people. The goal was to have a government by and for the people to isolate the effects of arbitrary exploitation and political corruption from that government.
Political parties were not the ideal of the Enlightenment. They were to be prevented if possible. That was accepted as impossible, which we can now say was a major structural failure.
As usual, what we now get is the opposite of what we need. We can not continue this way primarily because we are in the process of crashing and burning our planet. The choices we are trying to make are choices we do not have.
We have descended to a level of confusion that results from wilful ignorance, chaos created for political control, and unprecedented stupidity. These are aimed at destroying the federal government’s administrative functions so that they can be rebuilt with political stooges.
