OVERVIEW

The flood of ignorance and insanity from the Trump regime is reaching a level that guarantees tragedy. I admit to being stumped by the level of absurdity of the spreading attacks on science, medical science, and cultural history.

I have started to see very disturbing publications here on Substack. As I subscribe to many publications here and on other platforms and monitor corporate media, I’m familiar with the steady disintegration of corporate media in the English-language American Empire. That is balanced by the explosion of independent publications that are accurate and critical of the collapse of the US government and capitalism.

What has disturbed me is the appearance (reappearance) of racist, ethnocentric, and vicious propaganda that was last seen in Germany in the 1930s. This has become not just authoritarian creations, the American Republican Party has for decades been descending into that swamp, but totalitarian and anti-democratic.

Without an adequate level of historical knowledge it is difficult to understand the origins and lies perpetrated by Nazi Germany against their own people, the Weimar Republic, that collapsed as a result of complex politcal and economic issues.
