What we’re trying to achieve with CANU
Encouraging people to open up and do more together in the offline world
CANU is the new way of meeting up with people in the offline world. It’s designed for spontaneous experiences, those which make the most out of your life—the things you do together with other people. It’s used for casual activities like having a dinner with friends to more adventurous activities like rock climbing or skinny dipping. Whatever the activity, it’s the experience and the people you share the time with that matters the most.
We created CANU out of our own experiences. Two years ago, we arrived to study at Hyper Island in Stockholm. We were excited about our upcoming adventure and, most importantly, the new people we would meet and with whom our lives would change forever. We loved it… and we wanted more:
A network that’s offline
If you look at your digital persona — there is someone that’s online and someone that keeps the internet machine running. We constantly improve the world we live in by sharing knowledge and ideas online. Internet keeps you well entertained when you have nothing to do and it allows you to reach out to the world, if you have something important to say.
Internet is great. But now what?
What happens when you put the screen down? Whom do you see?
CANU is a tool for the offline world, for those real experiences of our lives. We want you to live your life to the fullest, and to make this possible, you need to be with the right people. Beyond the screen.

People that matter
Offline is where you are not edited, it is where you take off your digital mask and you are who you are. It is where we live as our human selves—those creatures that fail and mess up.
When you spend time face-to-face, great relations are built and valuable emotions are shared. This is when you get inspired, fall in love, create businesses and, quite frankly, live.
What matters the most in CANU — are the people you meet. It is your Tribe. This is the custom list that is seen only by you and that travels with you throughout your life. These are the people you are happy to know and whom you actually see everyday.
Make your Tribe grow — Welcome anyone
When you think about the people you met throughout your life, it seems to be mostly through introductions or shared experiences. Meeting new people through CANU happens via extended invitations, when your friends invite more people to an activity or when you decide to make your activity public.
Public activities are the experiences you are willing to share with anyone around you. These activities are seen by everyone in your area and people are welcome to join you and your group. So are you.
You no longer need to be an event organiser to gather people together, all you need is the desire to share an experience with others.
Where are we heading?
It seems obvious: if people believe that opening up and breaking clusters makes the world a better place, then CANU possibly has a bright future ahead and could change many lives for the better.
We believe that with the right motivation and support, this vision can connect people and nations closer together. Can you imagine flying overseas and finding out that you are welcome to join for a bbq with people that are willing to introduce you to their culture?
