Evolving Ourselves

Is it ethical for humans to “evolve” our body intentionally, becoming “augmented humans”? Should we merge with technology to improve our sight, be stronger or to live more?

There is an open debate about whether we should become “superhumans” or not, if it is ethical to do so and if we should focus our efforts on it. It’s funny because it seems like fiction, to want to become superheroes but why should we “evolve” when we have a disability and not simply to improve ourselves?

Juan Enríquez, co-author of “Evolving Ourselves”, has it very clear and I do too: of course it’s ethical and of course we must do it. Here you can find his masterful TED Talk (the presentation is a delight).

What do you think? Do you agree?
