A few months ago I came up with an idea: what if I bring back the webcomic that Maria Picasso and I made years ago but a futuristic twist? Looking for cartoons that talked about the future I found “The Political Machine”:

Pulling on the thread, I discovered that Luke Kingma (concept, copy and art direction) and Lou Patrick Mackay (illustration) started in December 2017 a line of futuristic content in a webcomic format and published within Futurism. In an interview with Bored Panda, Kingma commented:

In a broad sense, we are exploring humanity’s relationship with technology, both now and in the future. Part of that is giving people a glimpse of what tomorrow could look like at a personal level: the good, the bad, the absurd. Occasionally, we like to comment on science fiction culture, and on political matters, because we just can’t help ourselves. In many cases, we are looking at emerging technologies that are still in development, and asking, ‘What might happen next?’ Other times, we are taking something we find interesting or funny about humans, and asking, ‘How would this play out with robots?’

Here you can find some of their cartoons:

You can find the rest in their Instagram profile. Even so, I think there is a niche to continue to generate futuristic content in a webcomic format, what do you think?
