What we delivered this week
Introducing LithiumPLUS
With the introduction of token-free investing, we realised a rebranding of our ‘staking’ was necessary. You might wonder: So LithiumPLUS is really nothing but a rebranding of the staking feature? Yes and no.
Yes, in a sense that nothing changes in terms of mechanism and experience for our current community. Despite no changes to the mechanism, here’s why it matters: First, we are trying to drive web2 mass adoption, i.e. easing non-crypto natives into the space, rather than trying to capture a larger slice of the pie of moonbois—this is where we believe the most sustainable long-term potential is. Second, the term ‘staking’ is not technically correct: you are not providing tokens to validate transactions as part of a consensus mechanism, you are merely locking up tokens for rewards (notice how we also shifted away from ‘IDO’ towards ‘raise’, after all we’re not a decentralised exchange). You may scratch your head over the semantics, but can we really strive to become the leading crowdfunding solution when we’re not even capable of using correct terminology? Attention to detail, innit.
No, it's not only a rebranding of the staking feature because LithiumPLUS members now experience an additional stream of rewards & $IONs price pressure. Part of the transaction fee that is charged for non-token holders participating in a raise is directly distributed to our LithiumPLUS (formerly ‘staked’) holders. Another percentage of the transaction fee is used to buyback and burn tokens.
Homepage Update
Accordingly, the staking tab now shows LithiumPlus.
When clicking on LithiumPlus, you’ll see the following page that explains LithiumPLUS and its many perks in detail—again, for those of you already familiar with Lithium, nothing new, but important for those who will be joining us in the future.
Dashboard. All in One Place.
Previously, our ‘staking’ dashboard was separate from our projects rewards dashboard. We figured this could all easily be in one place. Addition by subtraction.
Raise Progress on Homepage
Live pools previously only showed that they were ‘live’ on the homepage. We now also include a tiny bar to show the total raise progress and time left for live projects.
Our first iteration wasn’t the perfect, but we’ve already fixed this to display only two decimals. The devil’s in the detail 😈
Once again, a massive week—each step bringing us a bit closer to truly becoming the best crowdfunding solution out there (if we aren’t already 😃 ).
