We’ve been shipping features faster than SBF bankrupts crypto bros. But sometimes, you need to take a step back. Giveaways, automated tasks, and instant rewards are all great improvements, but firing them super quickly caused has led to build up of technical debt.

Technical debt occurs when you add features without ‘refactoring’ code efficiently as new features are added. Technical debt causes bloat to the product and makes apps slower.

This week, we had a good old spring-cleaning session, with our only focus being increasing the speed of our app. We’ve now got dozens of projects using Lithium; we need to make sure that adding all of this complexity doesn’t slow down the experience.

We won’t bore you with the technicals, but our developers this week have delivered impressive results:

⏰ Load times reduced by over 80%

🔻 The missions code base is now 40% smaller than it was last week (we’ve deleted and refactored a lot of code)

🤖 The requests being made from the front-end has dropped by 60% (this means quicker load times and a slicker feel)

This isn’t sexy work, but it’s the type of work that makes your experience way sexier.

And lastly—this one was long overdue—we’ve optimised the mobile design and the mission modals are now looking a lot prettier than they used to.

then v now, our mobile missions are a lot cleaner.

Stay tuned for next week, when we’ll be dropping some SERIOUS changes to our user experience 👀

WAGMI,

Tom, Lithium
