From a trash can to a cheese grater: An analysis of Apple’s bizarre design choices.

Believe it or not I actually like Apple’s designs for the most part. The iPod was cool, the iPhone is nice, and even the colorful Mac’s from back-in-the-day had some flair. But what’s up with the Mac Pro.

Why did they think the trash can look would appeal to anyone? Then they double down on a cheese grater. Why can’t the computer look normal and cost less? Because the housing is unique because you can take it off to work on the computer? Hello! It’s a computer…they all have this ability and for a lot less than $6000.

If you look at the design choices of current PC’s they still use a modified tower structure. This is just standard and isn’t the riskiest design choice but sometimes the plain route trumps a new radical design if the design looks funny. Apple has always been known for risk-taking designs…even to a fault. The colorful Mac’s from the 2000’s were great and the even the white Macbook look was also very popular. In my opinion the future of computers is a virtual PC/MAC system where the computing power can be adjusted or changed per the users needs. But who knows maybe the cheese grader design will pick up steam.

Now some people in the tech community will argue that the price is competitive and fair based on the same setups in the current market. But what if you just build it yourself? There is no way that it will cost you $6000 to compile the parts necessary to complete a PC or Hack Pro that can outperform this Mac. Don’t make me get Linus Tech Tips on you😂

Now if your not sure about my assessment of Apple’s design choices you can always buy the $200 book, “Designed by Apple.” But like all things Apple to even prove me wrong will cost you money.
