Futurepia Rewind: A Look Back At Major Events That Shaped 2018

2018 has been a fantastic year for Futurepia. Even though the crypto-market saw major ups-and-downs, Futurepia had a wonderful 2018 and the team is looking forward to welcoming 2019 with great pomp and show and keep playing their part to take Futurepia to the moon.

Here is a rewind of 2018, a look back at major events that happened this year and played a major role in Futurepia’s success.

1. K-Blockchain 2018 In Seoul

Cyworld’s (the first social network in Korea) one of the founders Hyong YongJoon, currently serving as one of the directors of Sigma Chain, gave a lecture on the title ‘Social Media Based On Blockchain’ at ‘K-Blockchain 2018’ conference held by Korea Block Chain Association at COEX Auditorium in Seoul on 30th August.

2. Attended WorldCryptoCon 2018 in Las Vegas

WorldCryptoCon was the first of its kind of event in the blockchain world to provide an opportunity to developers, investors, crypto enthusiasts and blockchainners to witness the latest blockchain innovations and technologies. The event took place at the heart of Las Vegas in the world’s famous Aria Hotel and Resort from 31st Oct — 2nd Nov where more than 2000 people attended various events and sessions. WCC consisted of 100+ exhibitors, and over 75 influential speakers and drew the attention of people from all over the world.

Futurepia team not only attended the conference but were given the honor to deliver a keynote speech on “Blockchain mainnet for Social Media DApps”.

3. Became Provider of World’s First Windows-based BP and BO setup

Both Etherium and EOS can only be set up on Linux, but Futurepia is taking a lead once again. Apart from having a stronger and faster mainnet, it can also be set on commonly used Windows. Therefore, both BP and BO can be installed and configured anywhere on Linux and Windows. This allows Futurepia users to choose their preferred OS and set up BP and BO.

4. Global partnership with Calero and GoodsTV

Futurepia partnered with Calero — a decentralized platform that implements leading edge Artificial intelligence and blockchain to improve, increase and automate the account payable process in a company.

Sigmachain also signed a strategic business agreement to supply IT solutions and blockchain business to Mexico’s GoodsTV (CEO Lee Woong), which operates the largest Hallyu platform in Latin America.

Through this agreement with Sigma Chain, Good’s TV plans to expand its business domain with real-time video streaming service and instant messenger service, and to launch an entertainment portal business for Latin America.

5. Won 1st place at Leadership Blockchain Summit in Switzerland

Futurepia Team recently won 1st Place during pitch competition at Leadership Blockchain Summit in Switzerland which is the one of the biggest event of its kind in Europe. It was a two-day event where startups pitch their ideas in front of investors and compete against each other.

6. Partners With KOMSIMA.org To Help Small Businesses Grow

Sigmachain recently signed a business agreement with the KOMSIMA.org(Korea Medium and Small Industry Managers Association). Both the parties have agreed to:

  1. Collaborate on the establishment of an ecosystem of blockchain based global small business cooperation networks
  2. Joint research on blockchain and training experts
  3. Technical Support and Consulting for Small and Medium Businesses

7. Partnerships with Food Tech Industries and Crypto-Exchanges

7-a Futurepia signs MoU with SyrupTable
Sigmachain (CEO Kwak Jin-young) has recently announced that they have signed an MOU with MonsterCube (CEO Yoo Jae-Beom), the operator of O2O service called ‘Syrup Table’, to push for a convergence business of blockchain-food technology.

7-b) Signed MoU with multinational crypto-exchanges:
The global cryptocurrency exchange platform, BitNaru, announced that it has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Futurepia(blockchain for high traffic DApps) for expanding and invigorating the blockchain mainnet and allowing other DApps to get listed for ver lower costs. This partnership will provide an opportunity to create a healthy ecosystem by allowing users of various DApp (Decentralized Application), deployed on Futurepia’s mainnet, to trade Futurepia Coin, DApp tokens and other alt-coins on the Bitnaru.

Moreover, Futurepia also announced its partnertship with Bluebelt, which is a platform for multinational cryptocurrency exchange in 10 countries like Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, and India.

8. Attended “Keyference 2018” — Blockchain Conference In Busan

Blockchain enthusiasts have gathered once again at BEXCO, in Busan South Korea for the “Keyference 2018” blockchain conference. This conference was the largest blockchain event in South Korea to crown the last quarter of 2018. The event was organized by “Blockchain Forum” and was attended by more than 2000 people. Futurepia COO, Youngseok Oh delivered the speech on the topic “Commercialization of blockchain through mainnet.

9. Signed MoU To Provide Mainnet To 11 Companies

Since the launch of blockchain mainnet in July 2018, Sigmachain has signed its sale agreement with 11 companies in various fields including restaurant, health care, beauty, games, cloud, smart city, cryptocurrency, sports and fashion.

Here are the 11 companies that will be using Sigmachain’s mainnet in future: Korea’s #1 application to find restaurant information — Syrup Table(managed by MonsterCube), health care inshore tech corporation Cardio Health Care, AI based Beauty health Tech enterprise Elfix, marine strategy simulation Online game ‘Navy Field operated by Nadia Games, mobile games development company 123 Games, the largest Hallyu content platform in South America Good’s TV, a tech platform specialized in cloud-based services i.e NamuTech, open source DBMS platform Cubrid, GIS-based road infrastructure solution company Awasoft, global cryptocurrency exchange Bitnaru and regulated exchange network for utility and security tokens Bluebelt.

10. Won The “Innovative Blockchain Startups” Award for 2018

Futurepia participated at Blockchain Leadership Summit in Switzerland. There were around 270 projects that applied for the competition, but it was #FUTUREPIA who got till the end and won the highest Award: Roadshow in Switzerland! And recently Futurepia has been awarded as one of the most “Innovative Blockchain Startups” Award by InnMind.
