Chances are if you have heard the word cryptocurrency, you might have also come across the terminology ERC-20. ERC-20 is a technical standard used for smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain for implementing tokens. And even though there are other standards, the majority of tokens issued on the Ethereum blockchain are ERC-20 compliant.

Just like Ethereum supports execution of smart contracts on its blockchain, world’s fastest mainnet i.e Futurepia also supports this feature. And during the official launch of Futurepia Dapp ecosystem, Futurepia also announced its token protocol called PASTA which is the abbreviation of — PIA Alliance Standard Token A+

Comparison between PASTA & ERC20

Here is a detailed comparison between both the protocols:

Futurepia mainnet has a big edge when it comes to TPS speed over Ethereum blockchain, owing to its DDPoS consensus algorithm technology. Under test environment, it has shown 300,000 TPS speed, while on Ethereum, its just 15 causing a serious issue for high traffic dapps.

Another difference is that, in Futurepia, dapp developers write and send their source code directly to the blockchain through RPC for stronger security, instead of writing to EVM which is EOS or Etherium method which can be easily hacked.

Moreover, since there are 6 required functions to be implemented by all the tokens using Ethereum blockchain, which are: (totalSupply, balanceOf, transfer, approve, allowance, transferFrom), in case of PASTA, since developer simply has to call the API, fixed number of functions are not required.

Characteristics of PASTA

Here are some of the prominent features of PASTA protocol:

a) Single Sign On (SSO)
One Futurepia ID can be used in various services and Dapps. This way a person’s information can be secured within a blockchain or where needed, can also be available on the blockchain node.

b) Single Transfer On (STO) (patent pending)
Create a wallet within Futurepia and use it in multiple dapps. Same wallet can be used to transfer/receive various dapp tokens securely through the blockchain.

c) APIs for Dapp Developers

Apart from providing mainnet core engine API, Futurepia also provides other useful modules like live streaming, smart wallet, communication network, and P2P cloud API. Futurepia mainnet is deployable both in Windows and Linux environment and with 100 APIs already developed.

PASTA defines a common list of rules for Futurepia dapp tokens to follow within the larger Futurepia ecosystem, allowing developers to accurately predict the interaction between tokens. These rules include how the tokens are transferred between addresses and how data within each token is accessed.
