Facebook Violates Apple, but Apple Cracks down with internal Choas at FB

Apple says it’s banning Facebook’s research app that collects users’ personal information teens as young as 13

We are getting used to Facebook getting caught doing extraordinary things to remain ahead. Facebook is scrambling to do damage control with ‘pissed’ employees after Apple blocks its internal apps, according to Business Insider.

Facebook has a data snooping commission program it calls “research”, a program that enrolled users as young as 13 prompts Apple to ban Facebook from publishing some apps.

In a world where Apple and Microsoft take privacy more serioulsy than Facebook and Google, today there was an implosion for Facebook’s internal culture. Facebook isn’t just cutting corners to get ahead, it’s breaching some pretty serious and controversial areas spurring debate about the consent of children online (in this case VPN root access data harvesting).

Facebook Fears an Exodus of Young People

Facebook is scared to be losing market share of young people to apps like TikTok that are growing at scary rates, yet the lengths they are going to by-pass the consent of minors and feed a black market for data and influencer marketing on Instagram is showing a sour grape even in the mouths of the worst Millennial profiteers, employees of Facebook.

On January 30th, 2019 Facebook culture took a turn for the worse. Apparently chaos has reportedly erupted inside Facebook as employees find themselves unable to open the company’s apps on their iPhones. Apple is not happy Facebook created a VP to have root access to the data of teens for as little as $20 a month violating privacy and circumventing the app store.

To me this is bordering on data pedophilia if you ask me and it shows a dark side to tech and the ethics that makes employees at these companies look like jerks!

Facebook is pretending they will stop its “market research” program that was paying users in exchange for their mobile data. The reality is they have been blocked, booted, outed and some whistle blowers are clearly fed up.

To make matters worse, Apple has blocked Facebook’s internal apps from working on employees’ phones, The Verge reported. Facebook needs a wake-up call and if not from their own employees, from who? You cannot regulate a monopoly where one person has this much control in an exploit of what a data based capitalism has become. The media does nothing because Facebook is a media company itself. It owns internet traffic. It doesn’t even allow Ads with the word Facebook in it.

Is Apple Standing up to Facebook’s Data Bullying?

The truth is Apple later contradicted Facebook’s statement with one that said it had revoked Facebook’s enterprise certificates after finding it had violated its developer policies. Facebook is even violating the ethics of its business partners. Mark Zuckerberg isn’t just going after kids, he’s doing it by any means possible!

Are there consequences for being unethical in tech? Hardly none at all. However this drama paints a picture of internal conflict within Facebook. The messy day for Facebook PR comes with a move that has perhaps significant ramifications for Facebook, as employees are reportedly locked out of internal apps.

  • Cheddar described some as saying they thought Facebook was being “unfairly targeted” by Apple.
  • Stop preying upon children and privacy invasive hacking, and we might treat you fairly for once Facebook.

Instagram is a hotbed of illicit under the table payouts to GenZ peer-to-peer influencers and brand advocates where sponsored content is the new black. Facebook has created a monster of data harvesting and weaponized honeypots and low hanging fruit for Russian and Chinese cybersecurity operatives.

Facebook isn’t just a national security risk, it’s a Silicon Valley embarrassment. At least it pays its employees well to have no morals or ethics.
