In our last post back in June, we announced our planned release of Futureswap v3, which would happen shortly after Arbitrum’s launch day. In the meantime, we’ve been hiring a world-class team of researchers and engineers from Google, Kraken, and Notion. Giving our resident galaxy brains so much time to dig into v3 had an unanticipated result: we came up with a novel system that was superior to the protocol we had in hand.

As we waited for the launch of Arbitrum to deploy Futureswap v3, we realized that we could deliver a better product with minimal time delays.

We are excited to announce the upcoming release of Futureswap v4, the most scalable and capital efficient perpetual futures primitive for the DeFi ecosystem.

Overall, Futureswap v4 is:

  • 📈 10x more liquid for traders
  • 💰 30x more capital efficient for liquidity providers
  • 🔊 More economically sound — no need for insurance fund, more fees to LP’s
  • 🦄 Fully composable
  • ♻️ Architecturally simpler

The exchange upgrades are being fully audited by Trail of Bits, which sets our launch date to the end of September. While we wait for the release of Futureswap v4, we will launch our testnet to onboard users and developers.

Although we are all eager to use the platform immediately, we could not pass on this opportunity we saw. v4 is worth the few additional weeks of waiting. The perpetual market is still nascent, and our mission is to deliver the best protocol for perpetuals.

Thanks to everyone in our community for your support! We’ll share details of the next version as we approach the launch of Futureswap v4.

LEGGO!
