Earlier this year, I published my paper “ItyFuzz: Snapshot-Based Fuzzer for Smart Contract” with fellow Ph.D. student Shangyin Tan and advisor Koushik Sen. The paper introduced a novel snapshot-based fuzzer named ItyFuzz, the brainchild of my time at UC Berkeley’s Sky Computing Lab and research in program analysis, security, and distributed systems. We decided to make ItyFuzz an open-source initiative available on GitHub in the spirit of open collaboration and community-driven innovations pioneered by several startups from UC Berkeley. Since then, the support we’ve received from the community has been both invaluable and inspiring.

That is why I am so pleased to share that we have just closed our $3M seed funding round to continue our work toward developing reliable tools that will help developers quickly and accurately detect bugs and vulnerabilities in their smart contracts and strengthen their code. But it doesn’t stop there — the team at FuzzLand has a vision to build the most comprehensive distributed computing network for smart contract analysis, and today’s announcement will take us closer to that goal.

What’s Next For FuzzLand?

We are so excited to get our ideas off the ground by using this fund to accelerate our research and development into automated security solutions like ItyFuzz that will better serve the Web3 community. We believe that the lack of security infrastructure in Web3 is a longstanding and growing problem, and we plan to address that by delivering solutions with low costs, high accuracy, and lightning-fast response times measured in microseconds.

We just launched Blaz, our smart contract analysis platform, which combines AI-guided fuzzing and formal verification solutions, in beta for a limited time for developers to try for free. Enterprises interested in a more premium solution can contact us about Blaz+, which offers the only fuzzing and formal verification solution on the market with post-deployment smart contract security analysis. Be sure to look for more product updates on our website (https://fuzz.land).

We are also hiring! Take a look at our career page for open roles and opportunities that will initially be focused on product scaling and adoption. Our team comprises mostly professors and Ph.D. graduates from Berkeley’s esteemed Program Analysis area, as well as industry experts to ensure that we can bridge the gap between theory and practice to create practical solutions that meet real-world demands.
