Election Night.

Post-Election Reflection of A Concerned White Man

I am sad for little white boys across America who may begin to see themselves in the president-elect.

I am sad for them because their humanity will be stripped from such a young age when they subconsciously develop a sense of entitlement and superiority.

I am sad that many will grow up viewing people with other skin colors, queer communities, women, and people who are genderqueer as aliens who are not welcome.

I am sad they will think they are the standard. I am sad they will think everyone must please them, work for them, and work around them.

I am sad they will get so high off the validation they receive throughout their youth that they will never come down.

I am sad they will internalize the normalization of a character and personality as that of the president-elect.

I am most sad for the humans that will be harmed by the destructive paths that many of these little white boys will walk on their journey to reclaim their humanity.

I was one of these little white boys.
