Greetings Fighters,

Welcome to CryptoFights Chronicle Early-Release Series!

CryptoFights 2.0 is making steady progress, and we are excited to share it with you. This will be one of many reveals and introductions of Crypto Fights 2.0 features before its initial release. We know our community values seeing our development, and this series focuses on bringing that to you.

This week we’re all about the CryptoFights Token. Yes, we’ve totally jumped the gun. We can’t help it! Plus, you’ve been waiting for this. Earlier this week, you received the announcement that our token development is making great progress — if you’re in our Discord or Telegram. We are giving the power to our community. So we released a survey asking what they want to know about the token so that we can bring it to them! The survey is now open to you, so we would love it if you took the time to give us your thoughts.

The CryptoFights token is coming soon, but there’s more. We’re diving into portal fragments, portal charging, the interface, and what they have to do with the CryptoFights Token!

Little is known about portal charging until today. Portal Fragments are the ultimate representation of gameplay effort. Players mainly obtain them via the crafting system by dismantling powerful items and combining rare components.

Only the most dedicated players own Portal Fragments.

Burning Fragments

Portal Fragments are useful because they can charge portals. Players charge portals by locking a batch of Portal Fragments. The fragments are then periodically destroyed (burned), and CFS token rewards are sent to the player. Players who want these rewards must keep their portals charged so that rewards can travel from the other side.

Where do rewards come from?

Rewards have two distinct sources. Both are equitably divided amongst all players burning fragments within a given time range based on the proportion of fragments burned:

  • Newly minted CFS tokens — The Staking Rewards pool will provide a massive amount of CFS tokens for early adopters and will flatten out and extinguish over time
  • PVP fees — The CryptoFights validator will channel PVP fees to reward players for burning fragments. As gameplay adoption grows, this will outweigh the rewards from the Staking Rewards pool and provide a long-term mechanism to incentivize fragment burning.

Players who burn more fragments get a larger share of rewards from the sources above.

Why are Portals necessary?

Charging Portals, the fragment burning mechanic, and its incentives serve a dual purpose: regulating item inflation rates and attracting players.

Regulating item supply rates

Online games in general and MMOs, in particular, strive to control item inflation rates as more players progress to endgame content. The supply of resources increases, and the demand decreases. Inflation is natural and not avoidable since restraining the supply would lead to limited loot drops — which takes away all the fun.

Traditional games try to address this with item sinks — or methods of removing items from the system.

Since fragments are the ultimate component at the top of the Crafting system, burning fragments is an item sink that creates positive pressure to turn mundane items into Fragments and, in turn, into CFS tokens.

Attract players

Rewards from the Staking Rewards pool will start off very high. This will incentivize early players who face a higher level of difficulty since they have been playing a game that has not been perfected.

Early rewards will attract new players, who will quickly recover the CFS tokens used to farm the necessary fragments.

As time goes on, the rewards will be continually halved and eventually extinguished, by which time the volume of PVP play will be enough to sustain the retention of the most proficient players. Once that happens, and the game can maintain a high volume of PVP play, then the system is self-sufficient and can pay rewards from the PVP entry fees.

Staking Rewards

In CryptoFights, players can generate CryptoFights Tokens passively by staking and burning Fragments.

Periodically, the CryptoFights validator will mint new tokens and deliver them to players who are burning fragments. FYX Gaming will regularly halve the number of CFS tokens it mints: rewards from burning fragments will decrease, and staking players will rely on PVP fee rewards.

This method of diminishing reward distribution ensures that CryptoFights Game:

  • Rewards early adopters for their gameplay effort early on.
  • Distributes the token to the broadest audience possible.

Much like miners compete for block rewards, CryptoFights players compete for CFS tokens by burning Fragments. Portal Charging is this Proof of Play mechanism and how gamers obtain fragments.

This Proof of Play allocation is based on burning Fragments and serves a dual purpose:

  • Rewards players for actively playing and being better than others and provides an endgame mechanic that generates passive rewards.
  • Maintains an equilibrium of items in the ecosystem.

This week’s CryptoFights Chronicle is information-heavy! What we’re giving you is the meat and potatoes to get your mind right and ready for CryptoFights 2.0 Tokenomics. Further information about our Token and Portal Charging will be primarily in our Developer Updates. Over the next few weeks, you can expect more user interface, game-play, and all-things in the CryptoFights world.

Stay up to date, and don’t miss a thing! Follow us everywhere.
