Welcome to the new decade. This year we are taking things as they are and really paying attention to what is surrounding us. The feelings, the emotions, the sense, what does breathing taste like, what does seeing sound like, what does listening smell like.

I’m surrounded by some amazing people in my life, from my family, to friends and to those that are there to challenge me. I’m inspired by their brilliance every day and every day I try to be a bit better, pay more attention and action the better habits as we go along.

Every January reaches us with new hopes and resolutions, so there is no wonder that this month of January is packed with goodies. I’m grateful that January was able to give so many inspiring conversations, movies, moments of though.

Here are the best bits from January 2020. Happy New Year

1. Best Film & Series Collection of January 2020

  • Parasite (2019) — “Don’t plan, that’s the best plan.” One of the best films I’ve seen in my life.
  • The Joker (2019) — acting is truly incredible and terrifying at the same time.
  • Two Popes (2019) — A film about unlikely friendships. The full review is here.
  • Sex Education (Season 2) — funny, daring, forward, addictive.
  • Marriage Story (2019)— I was avoiding this movie for a while. We make so much effort at the beginning and then when things get comfortable we relax, but that’s where the problems might start brewing. It’s important to live life on the reminder that it’s a treasure to be in love and be reminded to love. And bring om with oneself is the start of that journey
  • The Game Changers (2019) — Some documentary. It got the world talking a bit.

2. Self care

  • MEDITATION — I did a Calm Course of 6 sessions with Lebron James, the famous basketball player in NBA, what attracted me to it in the first place was that he was talking about mental fitness and that’s exactly what i have been looking for. I’m looking for ways to tackle the issue around feeling under pressure all the day, anxiety and also a sense of panic. Reducing this in my work time, from society and in my life in general. Now sometimes its relatively difficult, but what I’m hoping is to pay attention to each moment that those emotions arise and to use the things that Le Brant thought of to engage in mental fitness.
  • FACIALS — Alicia Keys “Get unready with Alicia Keys”
  • Yoga Adriana — she is good vibes.

3. On Character

  • Film Ford vs Ferrari, how corporates destroyed someone’s potential in history of time.
  • I’m a huge fan of the magazine world and the value it brings to the world. I found it very interesting to take a Master class of Anna Winterfield.
  • Frank Sinatra — Fly me to the moon

4. Best Conversation

  • My Guide this month was my dear Moroccan friend Youssef. I’m so grateful for his wisdom for the whole month. Right at the beginning of the month we were discussing and talking about habits and how to improve ourselves. He mentioned that he is trying to switch off from technology 1 hour before sleep and 1 hour after he wakes up and this on day one made him think about how in the past we have been action-orientated and now the opposite of that is a distraction. Our world turned into just that, a bunch of distractions instead of us taking small actions that make a difference and make our minds feel ok.

5. Travel

Toronto — Top Spaces from Toronto:

  • Poet Bar, Hello 123, Drake Hotel, Supernova Ballroom

Dublin — Top Spaces from Dublin:

  • Elephant and Castle Wings, Kinara Kitchen.

6. Other Goodies

  • Film: The Aeronauts
  • Film: Toy Story 4
  • Film: The Report
  • Film: Misstress of Evil
  • Film: Where’d You Go, Bernadette

Happy January!
