New Year. New Me.

I joined a gym today.

The usual story.

I used to go to the gym a lot. Then I stopped.

I don’t think anything more needs to be said.

I’ve joined Muscle Bull Gym in Bermondsey. It’s close to work.

The Vanity Album

I used to have a personal trainer, Ro (who I still worship). Every month or so he would push into the disabled toilet in the gym, get me to take my shirt off, and snap some photos. It’s very hard to look good under the harsh light and the dubious background that a disabled toilet offers. Here’s a couple of the photos that I’ve still got.

Interesting to look back on. I was probably looking my best in July 2010 — just before the Gay Games in Cologne. Ro had put me on a chilli diet (which involved eating a fresh chilli with every meal and taking lots of fibre). It was an incredibly unpleasant experience but it really got results.
