Some people think we should use stop using plastic, but we believe there are many reasons why we may need to reduce the use of plastic but not necessarily abolish the use of plastic. First, plastic is cheaper and lighter than other materials like metal, glass, etc. For example, a 250 gram glass cup would cost ten times more than a plastic cup. Next, plastic is long-lasting and in no way influences the flavor of the contents at normal temperature. Unlike paper straws, which get soggy, plastic straws in contrast last longer and keep their form. Finally, plastic is widely used in our daily life, and it is difficult to find an alternative materials to replace it. For instance, plastic syringes are used in hospital on a daily basis. In the past, they were made of glass but were too fragile posing a danger to the patients. Therefore, this makes it hard for plastic to be replaced with other materials, as without a doubt, it is a very important material used by humans and is here to stay! So, instead we should focus more on reducing its use where possible rather than putting an end to using it.
