Plastic-Less future

Our planet is undoubtedly being worn down from the variety of man made pollutants — plastic being one of the main culprits! Therefore, it’s mandatory to enforce the reduced use of plastics. How can we go about this? First, create an awareness that environmental protection is an urgent issue; clearly laying out that plastic is not bio-degradable. Even though there are laws governing the recycling of used plastics, there are many places on Earth that are facing irreversible effects. Second, some may argue that we can still find other sources of fossil fuel to create plastic materials. However, fossil fuel is a non-renewable natural resource. An article from Octopus Energy states” that our known oil deposits will be gone by 2052.” Therefore, with that clock ticking we need to cut down the plastic usage and find other materials to substitute plastic. Finally, utilizing the technologies of today will allow us to invent bio-degradable materials. These technologies will also allow us to refurbish used plastic materials into other usable items. Based on all the reasons listed above, we can protect the environment by using less plastic. Be an eco-hero, our planet’s future is in your hands!
