Our favorite holiday is Chinese New Year. Firstly[P] because it’s the longest vacation in Taiwan that is celebrated over six days. Second, we spend much of that time eating a lot of delicious dishes and snacks prepared by our families, such as pomfret, rice cake, ‘Buddha jumps over the wall’, etc. Sometimes, we eat certain dishes that have a special meaning in Chinese culture. For example, eating pomfret would symbolize prosperity and savings. Third, our families gather on New Year’s Eve. On that day, we receive red envelopes from our elders and play games with them. In conclusion, all the special activities held during Chinese New Year (is what)makes it our favorite holiday.
