The Philippines and Taiwan may be closely located geographically with some similarities in their culture, but there are some very distinct differences in their agricultural industry, particularly in the area, population, and techniques. The first difference is in the amount of farmed area. Both countries cultivate tropical fruit, but the cultivated area in The Philippines is much larger than that of Taiwan. Second, these two counties differ in the population engaged in agriculture. Recently studies have shown that 35% of the population in Philippines are engaged in agriculture, but only 1.6% in Taiwan. Finally, even though the farmed area in Taiwan is many times smaller than that of The Philippines, Taiwan’s output is much higher because of the many unique and high-tech cultivation techniques adopted by them. Taiwan exports juicy, delicious, high-end produce all over the world. The proximity of these two islands countries however provide them with many opportunities to collaborate with one another, and build a strong economic connection.
