Reviewing Zoe’s C.R.A.P
Zoe Padgett is a UX designer currently working at IBM in its Data Analytics Group. Her role involves both user research and UI. Below is an assessment of her portfolio.
Contrast:
- the deep blue vs. white works well in terms of assigning importance
- all of the actual project thumbnails are unique and offer a define contrast from the white page background
Repetition:
- projects are in grid format, making it easy to follow
- each general grouping of projects are rectangles
- high degree of consistency throughout, including her resume, which follows with the sparse white and blue theme
Alignment:
- there is a clear divide between project visuals and side bar, which lists the name and category of each project featured as well as a link to her “about me”
Proximity:
- obvious that the tags are associated with the project above them
- project thumbnails are well-spaced between borders and other projects
I enjoyed browsing through Zoe’s portfolio. It’s simple. I really like the way she features tags — you can click one and it generates a new page with all work examples associated with that tag. I think the “about me” session is well done because it’s very much to the point. Overall, I think the portfolio, specifically the balance of information surrounding past projects, does a great job generating interest from anyone viewing it — potential employers, prospective collaborators, students, etc.
