Trustworthy vs. Untrustworthy

For the trustworthy site example, I chose the Chicago Music Exchange website. Chicago Music Exchange, or CME, has definitely become one of the most trusted, and all around best music store in the country. Here are a few reasons why the CME website is trustworthy:

  1. Relevant, high-quality and aesthetically pleasing imagery throughout the site.
  2. They are a “Google Trusted Store” and display that on the bottom left of the homepage.
  3. The site features an extensive Customer Service section, complete with several testimonials and customer reviews.

On the other hand, I’d say the Music Guild website is an untrustworthy website. The Music Guild is an eclectic music shop located in Danbury, CT that does a good deal of business, especially via eBay. There are many reasons why I consider the site untrustworthy, three of them are:

  1. Aesthetically speaking, it’s very outdated and ugly. It isn’t in-line with today’s design standards.
  2. There is effectively no content in the different sections of the site: “Guitars”, ”Woodwinds”, “Rentals”, “Lessons”, etc.
  3. There are no customer reviews or any sort of verification pertaining to the customer experience with the business.
